We’ve used our HDS7000 in temperatures 45°- 48° C a number of times in the oil and gas fields of Central Australia and have had no problems. The instrument does get hot, and no doubt it is dusty, but comparison of the scan data with random QA shots from the total station have shown good agreement so no issue with the quality of the results. Battery life is shorter but other than that, no problems :)
