Battery flashing red then blue, dead?

Post by Leandre Robitaille »

This specific state isn't on the faro website the led code the charger gives.
In the scanner it wont boot, if I plug in the scanner battery is at 0%.
I tried charging 24hrs with no success
Anyone can confirm this means a dead battery. This specific flashing red to fully blue code means its good for recycling?
Can faro fix this and any way for us to salvage this battery?

Do other batteries charge normally in the same dock? I've had docks that have gone bad giving me funky changing LED colours, which then ended up actually draining power from perfectly working batteries and putting them into a deeply discharged state. I'd recommend charging the battery inside of a scanner for 2-3 days straight (over the weekend or something) before throwing the battery. But obviously if other batteries are charging fine in that dock its safe to say its probably the battery which is the issue.

Came back to say that having the battery in the scanner and leaving it plugged in for 2.5 days did work. After the first 30h it was 40% charge and now I think its back to normal
I did try the 24h charge with the charging block and that didnt work, idk what is different with charging with the scanner but that did work.

Glad to hear you got it working :D

Whenever I have dead batteries I always long-charge them inside of the scanner. Then if the battery still doesn't charge you can be pretty sure the battery is faulty rather than the dock.
