Register 360 only showing one control point

Post by ScottErnst »

Hi,

I have a project with 5 control points that were captured in the scans. I've imported my control file, it shows up in both the left and right panes and shows all of the points in the file. I applied the points to the targets and everything seems to be fine. However, when I click on the control tab it only shows one of the control points in the main screen and when I try to apply control to the bundle I get the message that 'there are not enough correspondences to apply control'. Does anyone have an idea why all of the points aren't showing up?

image is not too sharp, but seems like all of the points have the same coordinates.

make sure that the points are in the correct unit. And have enough precision.

reg360 uses the data as label, easting, northing, elevation

Never seen control put in as Feet-Inches, neat.

Totally agree, the only variation between those points is in the Z, all the X-Y values look to be the same.

Well, that's interesting. They are all the same. I didn't notice that. The txt file I imported had different information than what shows in R360. I recorded the GCPs in WGS84 EPSG 4326. R360 put it in as northing, easting instead of lat lon. Does R360 only accept northing easting?

In 2022 there is some changes, there ia a gcp by rule but before 2022 the gcps are in one fixed formet, which is:
Id,y,x,z,comment

Here is the list what it support in 2022. I don't see possibilities to put in lat/lon. So you need to convert those to northing, easting.

The reason they are all dropping on top of each other is because of the LAT/LONG format of your coordinates.

Its thinking its all in meters/feet, and only reading the first 3 or 4 points after the decimal. So that's why all the control points are X=35.711(2), Y=-105.911(2). The Z values all work out because the altitude is in Feet/meters.

You'll need to covert it to Meters or Feet using northings and eastings instead of Lat/Long, then it should import without issue.

Hello,

Im using Reg360 2022. I have a big project with 5 control points that were captured in the scans. I've renamed all targets like they should be. I've imported my control file (N,E,El) and looks correctly imported. Then when hitting on my Bundle and pressing 'Apply control' the error : 'Not enough correspondence to apply control'.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

This is my second project in Reg360 and the same problem. I use to using Cyclone Core and still can do Master reg there but want to know what is the problem with my controls in Reg360.

Thanks.

Were you able to figure out what was going on? I've been using Register 360 for 4-5 years now and Ive had this issue before. Usually it was because we had the x and y import backwards or something. We are now into Register 360 plus' latest version and it seems like it could almost be a bug? We are stumped. After checking coordinate locations in Global mapper, control comes in in the correct locations. Does anyone have any insight?
