Hello Everyone,

anyone have an idea or small tipp of how such a great hight quality Point Cloud/Mesh Video is Possible?
Which software / workflow can produce this quality? and above all and best of all, 3D mesh projection in 2D in one video

First. No matter what software, it is highly dependent on scanning a good Pointcloud with as few occlusions in the data as possible. You need lots of stations where all objects are captured from as many perspectives as possible. You want as few shadows/voids/occlusions in the final Pointcloud as possible.

On the software side. Many programs will make you a great mesh. Cintoo/PreVu3D/SCC and even ReCAP has added back automated meshing.

But utmost is having a pointcloud suitable for meshing. Many scan with the minimum number of scans. You really need high scanner overlap with minimal occlusions in it. And this goes for all automated extraction software as well as meshing software. Many automatic extraction software's rely on creating a mesh from your pointclouds in the background.

Great work, very attractive video and impressive results. Reading the description of the job on the 3Deling site I see it was 3 days on site and 75 days processing, some amount of effort required to get that result.

Great points Shane. Often the office time is not looked at. That is a rather small Church, I have actually been there in Lviv. 3 days of scanning. Not sure if many are aware, but that Chapel is very small, under 100 sq/m of floor space definitely. They obviously had 100s of stations both inside and outside. Also I must admit that in Eastern Europe they really do push the limits. As part of a team back in 2010 we worked on a project of 8000 Scans for a Chemical processing plant. That was back in the days when I was working in Russia. We had 37 days of scanning, and it took over a year for the final AVEVA LFM and Bentley products to be delivered.

Often people don't account for what is required after the PointCloud is captured. I am currently on a project, and even the registration work is taking 2 to 3 days of registration per day of scanning. The bigger the projects the more time that is required. Highly detailed tho. We are in excess of 100 scan stations per 10,000 sq/ft to get all the details covered. This goes to supporting the automated routines for the project and also giving the Photo quality the client is requesting to cover details. Admittedly, I know many would cover the same space with a quarter that many scans, but then the automation will not work, and also the expectations of the photo quality would not be achieved.

Outstanding work from Poland was probably what fired me up to enter the world of laser scanning in 2011. Whatever the Poles were doing, it was exactly what I hoped to do once I purchased my FARO Focus scanner. Perhaps, it was their comprehensive technical training in AEC related fields, or a clear artistic sense of what the 'end product' should look like--no matter, their images were breathtaking. This remains true, today. Five Stars to Poland! ~S

I have lost the name of the person who posted the attached image (below), so many years ago. His factory images remain some of my favorites.

Hi,

Regarding the first part of the video, it seems they used Pointools. I also still use an old Pointools Viewpro license to create some videos.
3Deling has great experience and provides high quality scans.
A few years ago, they also had an ultra high hd orthoimage viewer on their website.

Amazing results! I wonder whether it was processed in Capture Reality software (or similar) combining laser scans with imagery. I would also love to see comaprision of the final mesh and the laser scanning pointcloud.
