Zeb Revo & Horizon Battery Life while scanning.

Post by asbuiltguys »

I will be renting these units for a job and have seen conflicting information on battery life.
The rental comes with 2 batteries.

Can someone provide any information on what I should expect?

My understanding is:
1. Keep scans limited "closed loop" and limit them to 20min each.
2. Expect 1.5 hours of scan time per battery.
3. Recharge time for each battery is 8-10 hours.

This pretty much limits me to around 3 hours of scan time per day. I might be able to squeeze a little more by recharging one of them for 1.5 hours while burning through the 2nd.

Is there a better/faster way to charge? Can I expect more scan time?

Thank you.

Hello Jon,

You are right with the points you made above.

You may use the charging cable for charging it in your car (see attached image) so you can continue your scans while being in the field. Regarding to scan duration, we recommend to not exceed the 30 minutes of duration due to the limitations of the computer's specs.

When user make multiple small scans, they process them significantly faster as the computation to the relative complex geometry is not high and therefore the processing time is very short.
