what is the modeling software that you are using? Seems like Revit? How do you cope for example with exterior walls that are going upwards but have slight angle? And what is the metodology with creating irregular walls? Using model in place(If that is revit that we are talking about) or puting multiple walls in the cavity and joining them all together?

Project looks fantastic! I would really like to know more about all of the process, as the BIM engineer myself and working together with 3d scanning and modeling.

Hello virtuoso,

Yes, we're using Revit to model from point cloud data. As for creating walls, we will check the LOD, LOI of objects first. When the standard Revit tools and families are inappropriate or unsuitable to model complex shapes or objects, a model in-place will be used to model these ones, and then converted into a family.

For more information about joining walls into a continuous chain, you can refer here: https://vibims.com/join-walls-in-a-cont ... edium=post

A bit late :D

What is the area of this building. We are planing on scanning 20000sqm of building and that will be a lot of scans. I will need to divide building in segments, for example like 600 scans per job. How many scaning positions did it take to scan whole thing? Did you divide scans and if so, how many control points were you using? I would like to know, because this is could be our first job that requires such a huge object to be divided and possibly georeferenced.

Thanks for response

Best Regards
