Hi there,
I am quite new to this technology so please bear with me if my questions are a bit stupid .
We are working on a bulk earthworks site and I received a XYZ Point Cloud file. Problem is I dont know what is the best software to open the file wjith in order to extract data such as area and volumetrics.
Can anybody recommend a solution?
Thanks
Marsell

Re: XYZ / ECW File types and software
Our own package, SCC, certainly can certainly model and compute volumes from XYZ files. I've linked a short related video below. Let me know if you'd like to get a 30 day demo copy. I'd guess many point cloud processing software packages could also do this, including Cyclone, Trimble Business centre and Reshaper and probably quite a few more. Not so sure about ECW unless it contains heights, GeoTIFF would possibly be better.
