Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced 3D Scanning/Reality Capture Technician that can work from any of our Maryland offices including Frederick, Rockville, Baltimore or Lanham. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and a detail oriented individual interested in taking a leading role as we expand the reality capture capabilities across our Maryland operations. Applicant must be able to operate in a team environment as well as independently, while also providing training and guidance to both field and office staff. The position has opportunity for advancement for a motivated individual willing to grow with the reality capture group.

Responsibilities
Perform field data collection with a variety of terrestrial scanners, on a range of project types.
Process point cloud and imagery data, including: registration, cleaning, feature extraction, modeling (Cyclone & Revit), and file management.
Assist survey managers with estimating and proposals, and coordination with engineering, architectural, and modeling departments.
Assist in refining standard procedures for data collection and training of survey field staff.
Assist in refining standard procedures for data processing and training of office staff.
Perform survey CAD technician duties, as needed.
Continually advance personal and group knowledge with upgrades in technology and equipment.

Required Skills & Required Experience
Minimum of five years of field and office scanning experience required.
Must have a High School Diploma (minimum).
Must be able to perform in a supervisory/training role.
Must have a solid understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.
Must be proficient with Leica scanners and Cyclone software, and Autodesk Recap.
Must be proficient with AutoCAD platform software (AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, Civil3D).
Working knowledge of Revit preferred. Familiarity with Microstation a plus.
FAA Part 107 certified UAV pilot and/or experience working with UAV imagery/data preferred.
Must have good communication and organizational skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
Must be dependable, resourceful, tech-savvy with the ability to learn on the fly.
Must be physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions and terrain.
Ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition the ability to stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
