Recap pro distance tool issues with RTC 360 point cloud
We are noticing significant loss of function of all distance/ measurement tools within Recap when point clouds from the RTC are loaded in the program. Has anyone else experienced this? Of course we could ( and still do) use Reg360 to do any measurement taking. We have found Recap to be much quicker and simpler if we are needing to quickly pull distances - we use laser scanning in forensics where Recap really shines over a zoom call. Just seeing if anyone out there has noticed a very laggy response from measurement tools, even to the point Recap freezes entirely, while using point clouds from RTC. Thanks.

I have not used RTC scans in recap but my 5cent to this is the file size is extremelly big. You might want to look into decimating the data more uppon import

^^^RTC File sizes can be quite huge compared to a device like a BLK360. This may be the issue you a running into, where each scan from the RTC could be 20x the amount of data per scan, your PC might struggle.
One thing I would recommend is to open task manager and see where the bottleneck is. May shed some light on your issue, look for whatever is running at max in the 'Performance' tab.
Decimating the data may help, reducing data by a % or by points per unit spacing.

When importing in Recap or creating from other sofwtare always decimate. If you don't do this you'll bound to have problems. 5mm spacing is the minimum to choose to be able to use the damn thing

Thanks everyone! Decimated the point cloud from Reg 360 and it worked in Recap great.
