Hi Eugene,
Yes, it is a shame it isn't going to be ported into the Windows version of Rhino for some time (apparently).
The Mac version of Rhino doesn't have any Pointcloud tools to speak of.

Does anyone know why there are very few pointcloud /3D modelling tools built for the Mac platform ?
Is it a technical reason or sales direction etc ?
I am not complaining, I have never owned a Mac and probably never will.
(including Phones)
Mike.

Hi Mike,

We used to maintain Mac versions of our software, but there was just no demand for it. Therefore it just wasn't worth the time to maintain and develop them. We have our iPhone and iPad app now which sees good usage, but that's a different market to "professional" application use on a desktop. Whilst the majority of laser scanner manufactures only provide Windows support for their hardware I don't see the Mac market growing any time soon...

Many Thanks

Mark

It's beacuse of Apple M1 CPUs that have specific capabilities that can handle this tasks.
