3D Pipe tools for AutoCAD

Post by gorkovchuk »

Hi everyone!

I have made a new program, which allows to build 3d pipes in Autocad according to the pointcloud, join them with elbows, reducers,t-joints, extract centerlines.
Features of the program:
  • Semiautomated pipe fit to structured point cloud
  • Semiautomated pipe fit to unified point cloud
  • Build pipe from centerline
  • Automatic pipe join with elbow
  • Build t-joint, reducer, flange
  • Pipe centerline extraction
The best feature of the program, that it can join pipes with any angles and not only 90 degree elbows. Also, if pipe centerlines are not intersecting a bit, it is still able to join it.

I know what you mean. Well, as far as I know there is no software, which is able to extract pipes from noisy point clouds automatically.
That's why I have made two functions for pipe fit - one works with structured clouds (this is demonstrated on a GIF-image), and another one is less automated, but able to work with unified and noisy clouds. Here is a small demo for you:

Mike.
Unfortunately I am not working in Rhino. It seems Rhino has many similar functions, so in theory it is possible, but it will take another month to adapt the code.

hI! Sorry, if this is a silly question but I´m quite new working with As Built+ Autocad Plant 3d and yesterday the pipes aren´t showing properly. Even in realistic view I see only the centerlines of them but not the whole pipe. Is the file crashed or is something else? Thanks!
