Hi,
We performed an experiment to compare project indexing times. Undet Indexer vs. Autodesk ReCap
Test object: E57 & FLS files
Hardware: I7-6800, SSD 1 TB (SSD Evo 850)
Test results with standard settings; point cloud decimation off.
E57 -10 pcs. (9.51 GB)
UNDET Indexer | 10 min.
Autodesk ReCap| 41 min.
FLS – 19 pcs. (4.86 GB)
UNDET Indexer | 12 min.
Autodesk ReCap| 1h 16 min.
UNDET Indexerf 3-7x TIMES FASTER! UNDET saves enormous times when you need to start working with point clouds.

Nice result. The problem is that everyone wants their data to be delivered in recap format. Autodesk doesn't care if this process takes ages...

Yep, these types of processes are where having one or two headless PCs on the network doing grunt work (import, export, publish etc...) via remote desktop makes a lot of sense.landmeterbeuckx wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 12:38 pm Nice result. Umm... Is Undet data compatible with Revit? How do you load the data? I hope you don't need an expensive plugin. Because everyone wants Revit.
This is the problem and quite frankly the questions I ask before even looking at software. Sure its super fast, but so proprietary I can't use the output.

Of course, when customers need RCS/RCP point cloud files, UNDET will not help . Our solutions are focused on 2D / 3D / BIM deliverables for companies that converting point cloud to final documentation.Wdigman - Europe wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 7:50 am Umm... Undet database can be used in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Ares Commander using our plugins. In Revit we integrated UNDET completely differently, we don't use RCP/RCS files, because it takes ages to create the RCP project. And view panning & zooming functions which you are using constantly lagging...
https://youtu.be/M-rg5rt0aqE?t=333 - here is a video link on how you can create point clouds views in Revit. (P.S. The first part of the video is about project preparation, so jump to 5:33 to see how point cloud views are generated).

+1 for Undet in Revit platform
Cannot remember the last time i took an RCS/RCP file into Revit.
Undet file in Revit also allows you to view the point cloud independently of the Revit view range and of course interacts with the undet browser for super slick navigation and viewing.
