I'm interested to know a bit more about the accuracy. A 3D accuracy of 30mm is quoted, but at what range?

Much like with the new Leica, people are going to be interested in using this as a mobile scanner.

Can registration be done in Cyclone using targets, if so, to what accuracy? or is it all cloud to cloud? really interested to learn more about the registration process.
It would appear to be short(er) range.
The specs say "100m usable range", so I'm guessing 50m and the software can tell if its in the first phase of the longest wavelength and then puts everything else in the 2nd.
(but it could just as easily be the 5/10/20 meters we see in other vendors specs)
Who knows...other than the vendor. Delivery date?

At 3m, 30mm is 1% "error", maybe.
At 100m, 30mm is .03% "error", maybe, but less probable.
(VS BLK360's - "it has a range of 60 meters and scans with 4 mm accuracy" according to Leica specs.

rant follows, feel free to skip it:
Too bad we can't get all of the vendors to run a set of industry standard tests on
the same "targets", like the Univ of New Orleans test plate.
Also publish a set of "industry standard" specs and then any additional ones they would like to publish.

E57 is an industry standard format.

Why can't we have industry standard specs that mean the same thing to everyone?
(end of rant)

It (NCTech LASiris VR) look like it is made with a Velodyne Lidar Puck on a pan platform. The laser performance specifications is very similar to the Velodyne Lidar Puck.

Nevertheless, the system integration look very nice.

Jason, those pictures look fantastic. I'd love to see a section through the column inside the church. You can pick out quite a lot of detail, it certainly doesn't look as 'fuzzy' as I was expecting based on the 30mm accuracy quoted. Maybe the precision is much better?

Hi all,
Just thought I would drop a quick update since our return from the USA.
We are attending SPAR soon at which we will be demonstrating lots of data captured from our units.
We are already shipping OEM units and we expect to be ready to ship to everyone else soon.
If there are specific landmarks that you would like to recommend us to image scan, we will be happy to considered them in order to allow you to compare performance with your expectations.
We are pleased with the LASiris VR which is a great product as part of our VR line up of new hardware just announced which includes the iris360 pro, LASiris VR and iris VR.

Best Regards
Neil.
