Availability documentation "decomissioning piping"

Post by giannottit »

Hello guys, help me ..
Soon I will face quite a site in an industrial plant.
I'll have to detect the laser scanner of buildings and un'impianto made of many tubes decommissioned and abandoned. Can you tell me where to find some documentation on industrial plants, what are the specific line where you tracking down, how can I recognize the pipes, and equipment present in the site. My problem is to characterize the tube detected. There are written sources or day courses that explain and give you a smattering of the piping?
The plant is old and I do not think there are written documents.
Help me ...
Tomas

Leica Cyclone, Reality Linx, Aveva Laser Modeler, EdgeWise Plant.

All the above have the ability to create intelligent models from laser scans of industrial plant. I use Cyclone and it allows you to fit a known pipe size or flange size to the point cloud. Using this method you can reverse engineer a site. Older sites will have different types of equipment and piping but you will find something close with these pacakages.
If you don't see that there is nothing, then you are kidding yourself.

May I add another package which is able to extract piping and steel from point clouds.
kubit's PointSense Plant creates intelligent plant objects that can be further used in various plant design suites.

For further information check http://www.kubit-software.com

Best regards.
