Don't know about release dates but i saw it at GeoWeek and although it looks clumsy like i said on the InterGeo post the data is excellent. No difference with static scanning.

You have to do a few static scans where it attaches to but the slam part delivers great results. Price was about 40k for the slam unit only.
I do not know how many Z+F scanner users/owners have seen this announcement.

We have had 10 years of unblemished, excellent performance with our two Z+F Imager 5010C/5010X scanners. We are looking to exchange our Z+F scanners to the 5016 and possibly allow you to include the Flexscan 22. We have never had to sell our Z+F scanning equipment, but have always been able to upgrade them from 5006, 5006h, 5010C, 5010X over the many years being Z+F customers.

We'll be getting a demo on the 14th to 15th, this is definitely interesting, the possibility of registering to point clouds from high accuracy survey workflow scanners, thus eliminating the need for traditional scanner targets is compelling.

Hello,

Does anyone know how to export E57 embedded pano images on Laser Control from Flexscan data and 5016 static scan?
it looks Cyclone REGISTER 360 PLUS can be done this. We purchased it, and will start to use Flexscan for testing scanning from this month.

Thank you.

We would like a feedback please.
I have test a demo dataset from the new flexscan that had heritage details and I am not satisfied from the quality of details. I am Leica user of P series. Total cost in Europe flexscan and the laser unit is around 140k. Also the unit is heavy and bulky for small places like ships or basements.
All we know that slam is the future but is in early stage all the units unfortunately and very expensive for small and medium companies.

Dear Ioannis
I am sorry to hear you were not entirely satisfied with the dataset you have seen. To date we have successfully recorded quite a number of world heritage sites, including very famous ones with exceptional results and detail. That being said, I would like to point out, that the amount of recorded detail is mainly user dependent and I would love to hear more about your needs and projects.

As the system is built around a static scanner, it provides you with two systems in one, a static scanner and mobile extension. Both can be purchased separately by the way. I’m not sure, by whom you were quoted 140k, as it seems a little high but we don’t know how much our partners charge in their region/country. We do have bundles on offer for entire systems. It might weigh more than others, but keep in mind that it is actually a static scanner at its core. Also, we have worked out a comfortable solution with the professional hiking equipment manufacturer, “Vaude”. We have received very good feedback from our customers about it, which were also in doubt in the beginning, but positively surprised in the end. Also it is possible to mount the system on push carts or robots, hence the name FlexScan.

Would you be interested in an online meeting? I would like to discuss your points above directly and see what went wrong. If interested, please contact me c.held(at)zf-laser.com.

Best regards,
Chris

Dear Iwata-San,
Currently the panoramas can be exported as equirectangular images, but we are working on the combined e57 export to be released soon.
Please contact us, should you have any further questions (best via email).
Best regards,
Chris
