A large speed increase is needed for sure compared tintje x7 as well as data Quality.

Re: TRIMBLE X9
The Trimble X7 was great, just a little slow and the imaging wasn't the best. The on site registration was fantastic though - the best I have used thus far. Very interested to see the full specs.

Re: TRIMBLE X9
Data sheet for the instrument is here, https://geospatial.trimble.com/sites/ge ... eet_US.pdf Be interesting to see some sample data and how it is priced. The X7 data that I've worked with has always seemed very clean.

Re: TRIMBLE X9
I have test trimble x7 comapred with a blk g2.
I was very impressed from the compensator that trimble x7. But in capturing was too slow. Also if you want to scan a facade of a building x7 was not able to give points after second floor!
In the other hand BLK g2 was super fast and the density and the distance that we work it was far better than trimble. The big drawback is that it has no compensator and also has some bus that stop working after some hours of non stop scanning... (erors and reboot)
Lets wait the new X9.
Price of the local vendors of X7 was 30.000 euro BLK g2 20.000 euro (without software and VAT)

Re: TRIMBLE X9
looks very similar with x7 in many ways.

Re: TRIMBLE X9
There is no advertised upgrade program.
The main scanning components of X9 are physically completely different to X7, despite similar outward appearance.
Whilst Trimble have done upgrade programs before which involve minor physical changes (recently SX12 HaLo wifi module),
this would be a very different beast.
I'm from a dealer, not Trimble, but I would absolutely bet against this ever being possible sorry.
