can't specify faro (.fls, .fws, lsproj, etc) file to file open

File > open in version 2.12.0 doesn't list any of the FARO file types.

I've used it before, with fARO .fls files with no problems.

Do I need a particular api/SDK installed?

This is a fresh CloudCOmpare installation.

So you would need the FARO LS SDK (if it is still supported by cloudcompare)

We had some issues with Windows 11, because the paths changed there.
In the windows sxs folder you can check if any SDK is installed:
C:\Windows\WinSxS
-> folder
amd64_faro.ls_....

i have five (5) folders in C:\windows\WinSxs date is date modified:
amd_faro.ls_..._1.1.905.0.. 1/22
amd_faro.ls_..._1.1.904.0.. 11/21
amd_faro.ls_..._1.1.903.0.. 10/24/2021
amd_faro.ls_..._1.1.902.0... 10/03/2021
amd_faro.ls_..._1.1.800.7...09/2021

The file i downloaded FROM THE kbfaro is faro_LS_SDK_2021.5.1.9021_Setup.exe,
which looks like the 902 above.

iF SO, don't I already ahve .905, but that's not the most recent according the KB web site, right, since of I 903,904 & 905 in my C:\windows\winSxS.

Any suggestions?

When installing CloudCompare, make sure to enable the "FARO plugin" (that's the only option of the Windows installer).

I uninstalled CC and installed 2.12.4.
Thant fixed the FARO file format input problem, thank you.

It appears to have installed the SDK 1.1.800.4.

from above, I had the following installed already:

It looks to me like the one FARO is saying will be the LAST SDK is 902.



Any plans to go to 905?
