AutoCad - zoom and pan in perspective view
For anyone that uses Cyclone and Autocad regularly, can you zoom and rotate around in a point cloud in Autocad using perspective view like we can in Cyclone? I've tried different zoom setting but the point cloud just jumps all over the place. There is no way I can stay inside a room for example and rotated around without being thrown out to China. Is Autocad just not built for that or I'm I missing something?

You could try command '3DORBITCTR' to set what the perspective view orbits around - assign this to a shortcut/button/hotkey.
Or use a 3D mouse and forget all those challenges!

You can try to go to "perspective mode". On perspective tool pallet click "free orbit". Then right mouse click and select "swivel", and you will be able to stand in a fixed position.
In Undet for AutoCAD plug-in, we had improved perspective view. You can look at this video for more info: https://youtu.be/77uhq5GjmrM

Re: AutoCad - zoom and pan in perspective view
Also try the "_3Dwalk" command, you can swivel around with the Z-axis locked upright. Zooming is still way too sensitive, so try the "_3ddistance" command.
You can use the orbit but make sure the pivot point snaps to the pointcloud. Orbit auto-target must be disabled for that.
But overall yeah, AutoCAD is way too clunky for this (and the framerate!). I would stick to the panoramic view in your preferred viewer (Cyclone, Scene, Recap, etc.).

It's possible to zoom and rotate around a point cloud in AutoCAD using perspective view, but it may require adjusting the display settings and using a more powerful computer.gb whatsapp
