Surphaser Scanner worth?

Post by SurphUser »

Top of the morning to everyone!

I recently acquired a used Surphaser 105HSX at an auction and wanted to know what it's worth or value? I currently have it for sale on eBay but not sure if I have it overpriced.

I reached out to Basis who said when purchased new they would go for 110K but they are now discontinued as of 4 years ago. Basis also gave a pretty steep price to have the unit serviced, can this be done by 3rd parties?

I did some minimal testing and it appears to scan and save a C3D file to memory card but I have no way of seeing rendered image because I don't have the software.

Thanks Everyone!

If you happen to have Polyworks, it has a plugin for Surphaser.

We were using older Surphaser models to do aircraft scanning, but we have found the Leica RTC360 to provide similar results. The RTC360 is a lot faster and is better suited to general scanning use.
