TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEER –
TERRESTRIAL LASER SCANNING

RIEGL is a leading international technology company, specialising in high performance, laser
scanning instrumentation (UTIMATE LiDARTM). Our innovative technology is used across the
geospatial community; broadly centring on surveying, engineering & construction, mapping,
research and public safety. RIEGL specialises in both Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) and multi-
platform dynamic laser scanning, for example surveying from UAV, land platform or aircraft.
RIEGL UK is now seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to proactively advance our UK growth of the
RIEGL TLS product line, which includes our recently previewed ‘new era’ VZ-600i.
This position would suit a dynamic individual who possesses the confidence and experience to
source, develop and grow their own prospect relationships through channels such as their
existing connections, social media and networking, site visits and exhibitions.
Focusing on the surveying, engineering & construction sector, the candidate will already be
familiar with TLS technology and delivering survey results via a variety of software processing
platforms for cross-industry applications (monitoring, as-builts, measured building surveys, BIM,
modelling, others). They will understand how the TLS sits within the pool of other
complementary survey equipment and be able to demonstrate where RIEGL adds significant
value within existing workflows.
As a technically confident, commercially driven individual; the TLS Technical Sales Engineer will
be responsible for owning their prospects from first contact to subsequent sales but also perform
training and follow-up support. They will be able to balance the working day between post sale
activities, creating promotional technical content and generating their next sales opportunities.

Considerations:
▪ Whilst this role requires the candidate to be technically astute, the primary function is sales
orientated
▪ Salary (neg) depending on experience
▪ Accompanying package; Pension, Bonus, 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
▪ Full time position. Some flexible working accommodated. Commutable to York is an
advantage
▪ UK Travel essential. Driving licence and access to own car required. HMRC mileage rates paid
▪ Occasional international travel maybe required for training and event attendance
▪ Some manual handling and frequent construction site attendance will be involved in this role
▪ Right to work in the UK is a requirement
