Dear all,
Is there a way I can split the face of the step from its underside?

Hi Nicolas,
Yes exactly. Can you explain in brief how you finished up with this result?

Re: Split Face of Step form underside
The method that I used:
- Building extractor (manual and semi-automatic extraction of the top side of each step)
- I grouped all separated mesh to make a compound
- I separate the compound mesh from the cloud using a distance (for instance 5 cm) - Clean Separate with...
PS: create a suitable UCS if necessary beforehand (like Wall + Wall).
Another way if you want to keep the top steps with the rest of the cloud but without the downside part:
- create a quick mesh (Scan to mesh)
- Separate the bottom side of the stairs, use Clean Separate in the Surface modeling menu (camera position -Z and select the option back, only visible triangles according to the normal direction of the created mesh)
- Keep cleaning the mesh if necessary to focus on the main part
- Smooth
- Separate the point cloud with the mesh (5 cm for instance)
