GLS-1500 WLAN connection to laptop PC

Just purchased a GLS-1500 in very good condition, with the ScanMaster software and dongle allowing use of the full (not viewer) version of ScanMaster 3. The ScanMaster software is installed on my PC, and authenticated, but I am having trouble making the connection between the scanner and the PC. The button in the lower left of the screen is red and "disconnected". I have attempted to make an "AD-HOC" WLAN connection, but it appears that the wireless card on my laptop does not support such a connection, and that Windows 10 generally doesn't allow it. I tried making an "Infrastructure" connection, but I can't seem to get the WEP passkey to take, and furthermore my router uses WPA or WPA2 protocol. I tried making a USB connection, and although the PC seems to recognize that the device is connected (it makes a sound), it can't seem to find an appropriate driver. Thus, I have failed entirely on making a connection to the PC. I suppose, I could just control the scanner using the on-board interface and save to local SD card and then transfer to computer. But, I'd rather have the connection if I can make it.

Hi Alexander.

To establish the connection, you need to click the "Disconnected" button. Did you try it?

Hello Alexander and thank you for the reply. I got some help from a network specialist. The key was to use a wireless access point, as I believe modern versions of Windows do not allow for the AD HOC connection method. I purchased a "TP-Link N150 Wireless 3G/4G Portable Router with Access Point/WISP/Router Modes (TL-MR3020)" on Amazon, which allows for WEP protocol. Had to set it up as an OPEN network. Not a fan of the outdated, compromised security, but it works!

That true, I forgot about it.

From my point of view GLS will work more effectively with scanner controls, not from remote device.
