Hi,
I have been testing almost all of the iPhone scanning apps quite extensively for the past year and a half. Focusing on various topics, including the built environment: https://sketchfab.com/jacekjaskolski/co ... -interiors.

Zappcha came a bit late to the party, when the Apple "LiDAR" scanning apps space was already quite crowded, but I tried nevertheless. I wasn't able to get good results though, most were very noisy. The examples posted above look much better than what I was able to achieve, maybe I'm doing something wrong? I'd like to give it another shot - would you mind DM'ing me?

Also - does Zappcha handle loop closures?

Hi Jacek,

Thank you for reaching out to us. How long ago did you try the app? It has come a long way in a short space of time. With our active filtering you should get the cleanest possible "raw" scan from an iOS device.

Yes we do support loop closure to eliminate drift on long scans, however it's not obvious currently how to achieve this. We're working on an updated UI for the next release to assist with this. However in the mean time feel free to contact us at [email protected] and somebody will get in touch with you.

Many Thanks

Mark

Fantastic scan taken this week by one of our users. Even though the surface of the piano is relatively reflective, Zappcha has captured it really well.
