Hey guys,
I seem to be having issues unifying a registered model space. It is a massive dataset for a multistorey building ie somewhere around 600 scans. Project is occupying 1.7 TB! UNify seems to always get stuck at 64%. Seems to get through the "Gathering points" but then gets stuck while "Processing Points".
I have set the temp folder and have data stored on a local 3 TB drive.
I have tried downsampling as low as 0.05m. Still doesn't want to go.
I have run optimize on the modelspace successfully.
Tried Copying the modespace into a new scanworld. Same result.
I had altered the database datacluster size from 256 to 512 prior to the creation of the .imp. Have also tried fast unify checked on and off.
I have been creating a unified model space for each floor separately first. I was running into a similar issue for each floor when I attempted to unify. I got around it for each floor by downsampling the cloud to 0.015m.
Now it seems I am stuck as I have a registered cloud that I am happy with but am unable to unify / export.
I believe I should have enough room on the drive 800GB free of 2.72TB. Am I mistaken? Has anyone experienced issues with Unifying? Suggestions?
I could try disabling antivirus as I've come across this suggestion but have my doubts this is the issue in my case as It works for other projects.

i would export each scan to its each separated e57 and unifiy by other tools (cloud compare/pdal). It is always faster then in any cyclone product.
If you have huge datasets that is the way to go. we had recently a ~4 TB project.

We always assume 3x the database size for free space needed, so this would seem about right..stevenramsey wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 1:30 pm with 1.7tb of DB you will need about 6tb of free space

Re: Unifying Model Space Stuck on 64%
Hey guys. Another question relating to this. The last project I mentioned worked. However, I have another large project on the go. Some 500 scans. Seem to be having a similar issue. Database is 313GB. I have 1.5TB of free room. Any other reason why this is getting stuck while trying to unify? Thanks.

Re: Unifying Model Space Stuck on 64%
Hi Joel,
I have had some cases where a unify process takes up to 4 days. My only guess is that when the program appears "stuck" at 64%, it is performing data transfer between the temporary storage and the database storage drives. I only guess this based on the fact that on my work station, when I have the task manager open when cyclone appears stuck at 64%, there is still disk activity taking place on the drives I have set up for my temp and database storage.
Only advice would be to let it sit longer if you are confident that you have enough temp storage.
