Does Point Fuse generates meshes? The wording is a bit confusing for me since it mentions vector feature detection which would seem to me that it is only generating vector lines like a CAD drawing but it does show 3D isometric views.

How come I helped with the site work too and registered all the data and I never got a mentionjneilon wrote:Jason Warren from High Definition Surveys Ltd scanned this church with a STONEX X9 and provided the point cloud for my use.
It would be great to give one the church for letting us scan this in the first place.

Hi Phil,
You can blame me for not asking. I fixed it now. Thanks for the point cloud. This was a great learning process.
I would love to send the church a 3D print but this costs a bit of money to print.... I emailed Jason about printing options and costs.

That looks awesome. Any update on a tutorial?
I also tried creating a water tight mesh after a scan.... It did not go well. I searched all over but could not find anything to provide some guidance. I ended up pulling the project into MeshLab and created a water tight mesh but the level of detail was so far lost it was completely worthless.

I have found that Rapidform is the best solution for creating the water tight mesh myself. It is the most time consuming part of the process for me. I look forward to what the OP has to say on this as well.

Geomagic as worked well for us, as well as its excellent ability to add thickness for the print.
I heard great things about frost at SPAR this year.

BTW can anyone figure out the new Geomagic versions (3D Systems has clearly grown too fast!)... its so confusing that I dont even care to figure it out... on the flipside Polyworks is finally marketing to us....

I find the fact that they have been doing registration quite alluring as well...
also, has anyone seen a Autodesk mesher in action outside of photogram?

No tutorial yet.... I have been busy with other things. I will post here first as soon as I do. Geomagic is very powerful and the same with Rapidform XOR/Geomagic Design X. I have yet to try polyworks out but it does look very promising.

Yes, you can print in colour it is done with a sandstone material. It is very brittle though and not perfect.ArronJMD wrote:Wait...You can 3D print in color now!?jneilon wrote:f it was in colour I might of decided to print in colour.
