Laser Scan to BIM of the Old War Office, Whitehall
Hello,
We recently completed a very large project of scan-to-bim on the iconice Old War Office. It's being transformed into a hotel and residential.
We had up to 3 P40 and istars running some days. Some listed areas where modelled up to LOD 400 in BIM.
Please see case study below.

Thanks
Matt

Looks great. Congrats Matt!
How long did it take to scan it and process the deliverables? Any chance to share with us couple more screenshots of the BIM model?
Thanks
Jiri

Hi Jiri,
See attached a couple of screengrabs, cannot share too much though!
It took roughly 3-4 weeks on sites and many months of cad and modelling, stretched over 2 years now , not everything was done as high LOD from start.
It was quite an amazing job to work for everyone involved I must say.

Thanks for sharing Matt, that's one good-looking model.
I'd be really interested to hear about your workflow for creating the meshes of the heritage features - how did you get from the point cloud data to a mesh in a Revit family?

Excellent looking model.
I assume it was for this project, I remember over 3 years ago chatting to some Murphy surveyors in that area on my way to work. You can't rush quality.
Was the modelling all done in house or some of it subcontracted out?
