Hello together,
my company bought a Faro Focus 3D laserscanner with the aim to generate topographic maps (like you do with a total station and create the map in autocad by connecting the measured points with the desired lines) out of Pointclouds to make intersections for planing Buildings for Example.
Is there any programm to Filter Vegetation out of the point cloud and to get automatic vector data out of the Point cloud? Because otherwise i am forced to click on every single point (for example edge points of kerbstones) and export the coordinates to our CAD software which is very time comsuming.
I only found the breakline extraction tool which would help (3Dreshaper).
The software we use is Trimble Business Center and Point Cab.
Thank you
StuEv

Re: Topographic Maps
Hi StuEv,
Trimble Business Center v370 has an automated Ground Extraction capability useful to filter vegetation and above ground objects.
Please check the following video (at 19 min 54 sec):

You can find also other automated classification tools in Trimble RealWorks.

Re: Topographic Maps
I just use the surface creation tool in Civil 3D. It actually works really good. You just have to simplify the surface using the surface tools, or it will be huge.
