Hi, I'm new to the scanning world.
I plan to use my new MacBook Pro to run Scene 7, I don't plan to do big projects (Max 20 scans/project)
Does anyone has experience using Scene on a MBP using Parallel or BootCamp?
Thanks!
JS

Hi JSC,
Welcome to the wonderful world of scanning. It is great to see you are also a fellow Mac user too!
I would recommend using boot camp to run Windows on your Mac as it will give you access to far more system resources. FaroScene won’t have any problems running on there even with large projects. Having the SSD drives also makes things much more efficient. You won’t be disappointed. I have found windows behaves really well and actually better than on our PCs.
Enjoy.

Hi David!
Thanks for your reply.
I was considering using a VM (Parallel) instead of BootCamp, have you try it?
Are you using version 7 of Scene? (I'm scared that the Open GL won't be compatible?)
Have a good one!

Re: Faro Scene on MacBook
Stick with Bootcamp (I've used both with success) as it doubles your RAM allotment. Make sure that have a large enough hard drive and partition it evenly for Windows -Scene will soon fill its half, up. While nice to switch back and forth easily between the Mac and Windows OS, using Parallels, it is a much better work experience to register scans (Scene) from Bootcamp. After six years, everything still runs smoothly. Good luck!dmercel wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 11:09 am ...
