"There were more data at reading than expected. Error Code: 200"
I had a very large project on an external hard drive that went dead. After I used a utility to recover the data, I am getting this error and the project won't load. I tried to delete the last revision and it asks to revert to the previous one, but then it gives the same error. Can anyone point me to a possible solution?

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I now have a project with many many revisions and changes that is now exhibiting the same behavior. Did you find a fix?

Felix,
does the error message contain any information about a revision or specific file that could not be read?

Re: There were more data at reading than expected.
No nothing, just that cryptic error.
And it is a huge project, and takes like three minutes of loading before it pops up. Sometimes it pops up two or three times in a row, sometimes it doesn't. When i clear the error box I am left with nothing but a models folder, which is empty. So I can't even get to the revisions to see if I can revert the file.
And now it has spread to a second project. Wow do I not have time for this. Arrrgghh.

Re: There were more data at reading than expected.
So in hopes of helping someone else out, well, helping is relative here because there's not much help if what my issue turns out to be your issue.
Plus it's not fair to wipe the stink of my own failure off on the fine folks at Faro. Scene is a remarkable piece of software, at least 5.5 is, incredibly stable and it impresses me more every time I open it, which is a LOT.
After observing some other suspicious behavior on the laptop I popped the cover off the HD compartment to reveal to my dismay that the secondary data drive model is the dreaded Western Digital Blue drive. Arrrgghh.
/tldr
hard drive failure.
Three cheers for backups!

Thank you for the information. Sorry to hear that your hard drive died.
I hope your latest backup is not too old!
We will check if we can make the error message less cryptic in future versions and provide more information.
