Failed to align scans

Post by Ioannis » Tue May 28, 2019 2:53 pm

I have a group of registered scans, and i want to georefence them, i insert a control file from rtk gps points.
Then when i try to merge with the group the following message appears .'' Failed to align scan world group'' I know that RTK has a tolerance of 1-3 cm and the pointcloud is more accurate. How i can solve it ?
May i set the tolerance to higher levels with some way ?

in preferences edit the auto add constraint tolerance to something like 20-30mm and try again. I assume you have checked that the txt file has imported correctly and that they are in the control space for the reg and that there is no miss spelling. Cyclone is case sensitive. then select all the constraints with targets and weight them to 0.1 if your putting the targets in to the same reg as the c2c

1. Start a new registration in Cyclone
2. Add Scanworld of the imported control file (make sure first column is set to Target ID at import settings)
3. Add Scanworld of previous registration
4. Make sure the control file is set to Home Scanworld
5. Auto-add constraints by Target ID
6. View error of the constraints (should see GPS busts)
7. Raise or lower weights based on better or worse GPS strength

This creates a best fit scenario of pre-registered point clouds to control.

Fix and Register the cloud. Bring in registered cloud (import registered scanworld) and control file (set as home-scan position) in new Reg. The original scan remains locked (and levelled) and the difference in GNSS heights should be aggregated throughout the final registration...

ALways check you have the TargetID listed as column one for your GNSS control file and it matches the case exactly of the modelspaces with vertexes.

Worth a shot?
