Hi all,
New to scanning so be gentle. We purchased a couple BLK360's, have Cyclone Register 360, Jetstream, and Cloudworx. The issue I'm having is apply control to my registration. I took know coordinates of a couple manholes and top of side curbs and applied the virtual targets. imported the control txt file. The locations look correct but I get this error when applying the control. Any suggestions?

Hey Grant,
I have a couple of questions about your workflow. What do you mean by virtual targets? I also want to make sure that you have named the targets in the control file and the targets in Register360 exactly the same.
If you have done this, could you show me a couple of screenshots of your targets (in Reg360), and the target list. Either post them below, or send them directly to my email and I can help you figure out what is going on. My email address is AndyFontana.Leica[AT]gmail.com.
Thanks,
Andy

Re: Cyclone Register 360 Applying Control
Hi Andrew,
I updated Register 360 to 1.4.3. and It seems to work but 2 of the targets are about a foot off in the same direction, and one of the locations is about 3 feet off. I checked and double checked the coordinates. Yes, the control file and target description match. Why wouldn't the program move the point cloud to at least one that is correct? I'll have to grab the screen shots when I can get the license back, some else is using Register 360 at the moment.
What is a good work flow for getting your own control points? Use a P30 scanner, total station, GNSS receiver? Are there any other less expensive options?
Speaking of licenses, has anyone installed the floating license server on Amazon Web Services. I thought I had it working then it stopped. I'll create a separate post asking the questions.
Thanks, Grant
