Hi LFM,
we have scanned a column for our client. We are using a Leica HDS 6100. We use Cyclone and Recap for registration. We also use Edgewise Plant to produce CAD models. Our client has requested that we supply them with a registered pointcloud in ZFC or LFD. Whats the best workflow using what we have to give to the client using Aveva PDMS with LFM software (I believe its LFM Modeller)?

Re: Registered File Formats for Aveva
If your client has LFM generator you can write the transmorations from inside Cyclone register back to the ZFS files which LFM will read as "registered ZFS" which is what a ZFC file is

Re: Registered File Formats for Aveva
Hi All,
Before I was using HDS7000, register in Cyclone 9.1.3 and write the transformations back to the zfs files with no problems.
From the last week I started to use a new ZF IMAGER 5010C, register in Cyclone and write the transformations again to the zfs files.
But when I import this zfs registered again to Cyclone they are in a wrong position (2, 3 meters away), only the translation is correct.(Only the first scan position have the correct transformation)
Does any know anything about this issue?
Regards,
Delio Pontes

Hi Bill,
As Steven has said, if you are using Cyclone to register the scans you can write the registration information back to the header of the .zfs in Cyclone. These registered .zfs files can then be brought into LFM Server: Gateway Mode and converted to .zfc (LFM's native individual scan format). Once the scans have been converted to .zfc you can produce an LFM Server dataset (.lfd) which you client can load into PDMS via LFM Server.
If you would like further information, including license costs, you can contact our LFM Value Added Reseller (VAR) in South Africa who will be able to provide you with local support and industry knowledge in your time zone:
