Re: Surphaser applications and technical information
Looks like it takes very clean scans. Could you upload some RAW data at different distances?

Re: Surphaser applications and technical information
Hi Olivier,
The scan density control is software selectable within the following ranges as per the current specifications sheet:
Min. Vertical Point Density (points/degree) 24
Min. Horizontal Point Density (points/degree) 10
Max Vertical Point Density (points/degree) 90
Max Horizontal Point Density (points/degree) 90
Happy to answer any questions about the Surphaser, it is an amazing scanner!

Re: Surphaser applications and technical information
Olivier,
For standard configurations maximal point density is:
vertical - 92 Points/degree
horizontal - 180 Points/degree.
For special configurations vertical resolution may be up to 460 points/degree.
What resolution are you looking for?

Re: Surphaser applications and technical information
Hi
Thank you for your replies.
I own Leica HDS 6000 and I try to find out which scanner could be more accurate.
But are you talking about Surphaser® 25HSX ?
I search laser scanner that could have a precision < 1 mm with middle range .
In fact I must inform me because some client request very high level of precision.
For the moment I am not able to get such job.
How is it with registration?
Does it use target too ?
do we lose a lot of precision while registrering scans from difference scanpositions ?
Olivier

Re: Surphaser applications and technical information
Hi
Surphaser gives accuracy <1 mm in range from 1.5 to 10-15 meters. There is some marker extraction feature (for checkerboard and round markers), but it doesn't have scan registration feature. So registration should be done in another software (Cyclone, Polyworks,...). Export of ptx files is possible and it's the way how most users process Surphaser scans.

Re: Surphaser applications and technical information
But PTX discards all error information about the device (range +/-, angular uncertainty, etc). How can proper registration/processing be done without this?Mrrl wrote: So registration should be done in another software (Cyclone, Polyworks,...). Ryan,
Do you know any popular format that contains such information and software that can use it for registration and processing?

Re: Surphaser applications and technical information
Andrey,
I do not know of a format. LAS, maybe? I don't really use 3rd-party registration/processing packages, but I would guess that they have some way for you to specify expected errors in the data. The survey processing packages all have this ability.Mrrl wrote:Ryan,
