I am desperately trying to make antialiasing work in Pointools edit pro 1.1 x64. It works a treat when makeing a snapshot, but when i render it fails (see attachment), and the programme gets unstable. The file is 190 million points. It is no problem to render with out antialias turned on.

Re: Antialias problems
Hi there,
I had the same issue with some data from the C10. Exactly as you have stated, the data looked great in a snapshot (excellent looking data btw), but failed to work correctly in render mode - I imagine this is a graphics card/Open GL setting, rather than a PT setting.
Would be nice to get some feedback from the PT guys as to whether this can be overcome.
NB: Where's this building in the world? Will you be required to do any close-range scanning of the busts/carvings?

Re: Antialias problems
Hi Michael,
The anti-aliased animation renderer has a known problem that causes the points to be rendered white or not at all. This has been addressed in an incremental release due out very soon. It will no longer be known as the 'slow renderer' because the dev team have managed to speed up processing time considerably. So you'll be able to render to very large resolutions without a huge screen!

Re: Antialias problems
I meant to say also...
... the work around until the next release is to use the 'standard' renderer and render in the viewport. Press F11 to go full screen just before you hit the render button because it can only render up to the size of the viewport.

Re: Antialias problems
Thanks a lot - I have made a render i standart, looks great, but with the anti alias it would be even better
The building is i Copenhagen, Denmark, and is a test done a long side a job we did inside the castle. It is an attempt to push the precession and amount of data from laser scanning to the highest level. The job was done with help from Urbica, thanks for traveling to Denmark with very short notice! It would be fun to do detailed scans of the busts, and we have an excellent white-light scanner, but we are funding this ourselves so... But i will post the video when done.
