Re: NEW Topcon Scanner GTL1000
Looks like a really interesting piece of kit. We have a lot of users in the engineering side of things putting scan control in with a total station and then following it up with the actual scanning. Being able to combine this and not have to register as you've already established all the scan control to survey accuracy would be fantastic for these cases.Jason Warren wrote: βMon Apr 08, 2019 9:34 amGTL-1000. Re: NEW Topcon Scanner GTL1000
Is this a whole new two-piece unit ,or a second piece interface with an existing production Robotic Topcon?
Good idea-would like also to see sample data.

Re: NEW Topcon Scanner GTL1000
Data, full specs and guide price Data I've seen from Topcon terrestrial scanners recently has been very clean and I'd guess sitting on a total station this unit also boards a dual axis compensator. One of the things that I always liked about the Leica MS60 was that you could carry out a full least squares adjustment on the control and correct the scan data in 3d based on this with no need for registration. What let it down for many applications was the scan speed. Having this capability coupled with a fast scanner would make for an instrument with loads of potential.Jason Warren wrote: βMon Apr 08, 2019 12:10 pm Would like to see some sample data from the GTL-1000

Re: NEW Topcon Scanner GTL1000
Kind of exactly like that Paul, but more like a scanner than a fast EDM.pburrows145 wrote: βMon Apr 08, 2019 3:05 pmYou mean like with the Leica Nova MS60?smacl wrote: βMon Apr 08, 2019 10:02 amLooks like a really interesting piece of kit. Data and full specs will follow - Shane, you've pitched perfectly. The key for us is the resulting workflow specifically focused on Construction Validation.smacl wrote: βMon Apr 08, 2019 1:08 pmData, full specs and guide price Data I've seen from Topcon terrestrial scanners recently has been very clean and I'd guess sitting on a total station this unit also boards a dual axis compensator. We could do near-real-time construction validation with the GLS thanks to the prism scanning functionality.
But it was still a scanner that had total station functionality.
The GTL brings you a total station with scanning functionality.
Put that in combination with Clearedge3d's Verity and you have much much simpler near-real-time construction validation.
