Before some weeks we got our new Leica scanner now we are trying to mange point cloud data in order to draw accurate models in revit. Untill now we have used geoslam and then pointcab in oerder to get 2d plans and from there we build the 3d model.
Now with cleaner point clound and with less noise we are thinking if there is a program or a way to get results more easilly or automatic in revit.
Any thoughts or workflow that you follow it will be highly appreciated.

Re: From pointcloud 2 revit best workflow
Ioannis,
To do this you will need a software to export your registered point-clouds into an E57 format. Personally I use Cyclone.
Then download the free version of Recap from the auto-desk website. You will not need the Pro Version since the clouds are already registered.
Open Recap, create a new project and then import the E-57 file and let the program run. Index the scans then save the file.
Open Revit and import the clouds using the RCP file created by the Recap program.
This is the procedure I use to import clouds directly to Revit. There are third party plugins for Revit that import point clouds and model objects using tools not available in the out of the box Revit from auto-desk. This is the most inexpensive way I have found.
Message me if you have any questions or get stuck.

Thanks for the answer i use cyclone program, and i know the workflow with recap but i was thinking if it is worth the investment in a program that finds walls or windows automatically.
I have read in the forum about clearedge and others but anyone that use them in order to do BIM modelling tell us his thoughts..
