I.K Brunel's Wonders

Post by Scott » Thu Mar 16, 2017 8:02 pm

Has anyone in the UK scanned some of Brunel's 19th Century wonders?

Way back when we first got our scanstation 2, we laser scanned the Tamar bridge.

It was all a bit slower back then, you could sit and have a cup of tea during the scans.

Thanks for digging out the nice images of the Tamar bridge. It's encouraging to see that the old bridge still performs as designed, but a little sad to see the Scanstation 2, most likely retired. Not all of Brunel's projects did as well as his bridges, either -19th century progress was furious and unforgiving.

Nice images James, thanks.

Here's mine, back in 2009 at the Clifton Suspension Bridge with the ScanStation 2....don't have the point cloud though.

Steven,

that is an impressive mesh, even the chains have come out. Was this done using Geomagic?
