How do we IFC a Vertical Surface
I have a point cloud survey of a vertical and overhanging surface done in Leica Cyclone. I'm attempting to make it into an IFC for a client so as it can be added to their current BIM model. Has anyone got any advice on what software to use and a possible workflow. The current process has been to export a mesh from Cyclone as a DXF, open it in Civil 3d and them export as an IFC. The problem with this is that the mesh will only come out as a polyface mesh and will not export properly. The client has said that it is transparent. We need to get this right for future work requirements as it's never a good thing to have a disappointed customer. We are currently running Leica cyclone and a full Autodesk AEC suite. Any ideas?
