I've never worked with 3DReshaper, can we get the same results with replacing 3DReshaper by Geomagic or there is lot of things that we cant find in Geomagic and it exist on 3DReshaper :?:

Hello Yassin,
Thanks for your interest for 3DReshaper. I can only answer your question on a very general point of view. Of course there are differences between Geomagic and 3DReshaper, even if they are mainly used to produce the same kind of results. So this really depends on what kind of projects you are working on, and also your work habits.

Here are some of the strengths of 3DReshaper:
- various filters for point cloud cleaning
- different philosophy for the 3D meshing (more control of each step)
- special tools dedicated to Surveying: volumes and cubatures computation, tunnel inspection, etc..
On top of that, the tools for point cloud processing, 3D meshing, inspection and sectionning are all included in the standard version.

3DReshaper is known to be quite userfriendly and easy to learn. I invite you to test the software yourself and feel the difference with a free trial version: http://www.3dreshaper.com/en1/En_download.htm

I'll be glad to help you if you want ot test Reshaper on a specific project,so do not hesitate to contact me directly at: [email protected].

Cheers,
Jennifer

Thank you Jennifer,
We work with Riegl VZ400 generally we use Geomagic for 3D meshing to produce good mesh of facades in architectural projects or complicated models, and we fill holes of mesh and points.

Hi Yassin,

Complex 3D Meshing is the heart of 3DReshaper.
Our meshing technique is extremely powerfull, as it is based on two steps allowing you to create a perfect mesh by controlling the transitional result.
The principle is that you first create a rough mesh that covers perfectly the whole point cloud; then this mesh is refined thanks to the point cloud. This is the best way to choose the level of details in the final mesh and have a homogenous surface.
Then of course we have plenty of tools to improve the mesh: fill the holes (with or without curvature), smooth surfaces, set perfect borders, recreate the sharp edges, ...

You can watch this video to see a very good example of a façade being meshed with 3DReshaper:

Let me know your impression!
