I did a little tutorial on the new version of SKANECT by Manctl. The company released a major update by end of January

Excellent, going to try this out soon. Did you encounter any problems with the install or drivers with Scenect already installed?
Thanks for posting

Fortunately Skanect asks you, if you want to install OpenNI. If you choose not to, none of you old programs is affected by Skanect. I run parallel Artec Studio, Scenect and Scanect with OpenNi 1.5.2
