BEST LAPTOP FOR PROCESSING
We need to process on location so desktop towers are not possible. We've been using a 3-year-old Surface Pro with Cyclone R360 and Recap to register, process and output point clouds and I think it has done fairly well despite its weaknesses.
We're ready to invest in a powerful mobile workstation and have been considering MSI. Which manufacturers and models do you think are worth considering?

I use a Lenovo ThinkPad P series (P52, 2 years old) and I'm not disappointed...

I use the Razerblade Studio 10 gen intel cores 16 VT. 64 gigs of ram, RTX5000, 4TB NVME drive (keep in mind this is a double sided drive so won't work for all machines). I have completed many large scans without issue.

Re: BEST LAPTOP FOR PROCESSING
i don't think for these two software you need anything then a decent cpu, you will be fine with a simpla gtx 1660/1650 for most of the cases...
you will need as much memory as you can get. Maybe buy a laptop with low amount then upgrade it yourself... and a lot of storage. you can buy later m.2 drives and replace the original ones...

Re: BEST LAPTOP FOR PROCESSING
We are using Dell Precision 7520 series and beyond for this task.
For ReCap you should not worry too much about a high-end laptop. Our experiences on a different kind of newer and older computer with different kind of configurations doesn't show the 'want/must have' factor for high-end hardware.
