I've no experience with this one but to me it doens't look sturdy enough. Placing a 40000$ instrument on a 150$ tripod? Buy a nedo or some similar brand. They are made for surveying.

I use the Nedo and when the scanner is at full height it could tip very easily. This tripod does not have a locking mechanism to stop the legs from slipping. Even at the lowest height this is necessary on a slippery floor. Not too much difference in the collapsed height. For air travel I use a hard cover golf club bag, in the US there is no oversize or overweight charge on most airlines. It is guaranteed to be opened by security though.

It does say in the Q&A section they wouldn't recommend it for anything heavier than a BLK scanner.

i have one with a locking mechanism to fasten the legs. Don't use it much though. I almost always place the tripod on a dolly and fix the legs.WWilford wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 2:00 pm I use the Nedo and when the scanner is at full height it could tip very easily. Not a chance I'd put a £40k+ Faro on that.
I get nervous when I have to wind our Nedo up to full height, and that thing is tank-like in its construction.
