iris Plugin for Rhino - 3D Web Models

For those who use Rhino there is a really good plugin that is being developed by Luis Fraguada for showing 3d models on the web. The best part about it is that you can pull the models up on virtually anything that has a web browser - so you can pull it up on IOS and Android phones which I haven't been able to do with 3D PDFs. Using the plugin is super easy; just export as always in Rhino and then select the Iris file type. It will then give you a directory you can upload to your website - you can then edit the index.html file if you want to add your logo and/or contact info.

The only downside is that, unlike 3D PDFs, the file sizes get really large really quickly. To compensate for that I usually decimate the models to 50k polys with a 1024x1024 texture instead of 150k/2048 for 3D PDFs

The demos below are some samples I processed from FARO X series scan data into textured models.
