Z&F 5016 Angular accuracy vs Leica P20, P40 and P50

Post by soranan »

Hi All

I can from the datasheet of the Z&F 5016 see that the angular accuracy is 14.4 arcseconds (both Hz and V). Comparing this to Leica P20, P0 and P50 it is 6.4 arcseconds more.

Z&F 5016 Datasheet: https://www.positics.fr/wp-content/uplo ... niques.pdf

Leica P20 Datasheet: https://w3.leica-geosystems.com/downloa ... dat_en.pdf
Angular accuracy for P40 and 50 is the same as P20.

Is this a correct observation?

Thank you in advance.

Figures look correct

horizontal accuracy:
P-series - 8"
Z+F 5016 - 14.4"
RTC360 18"

The stat that I always like to look at is the 3D position accuracy that is quoted in the Leica spec sheets. For my dumb brain, this is one of the easier figures to understand  The other figure that is of interest to me is the accuracy of the DAC / tilt sensor / inclinometer.

It's always tricky to compare the scanners as the specs are reported differently by each manufacturer and they seem to cherry pick what figures they use as well. For example, I wanted to add the BLK's angular accuracy to the list above - but I cannot find it on the product sheet.

Hi Jamesrye

I have also come to the conclusion, that the accuracy specs regarding Leica
and Z&F are based on different methods. Furthermore, I am told, that the angular accuracy for Leica can NOT be obtained in real life under a scanning, since the test they have done, is under a static environment.
