Hello all.

The emails you are referring sound odd to me.

FARO is typically offering hardware maintenance contracts for 7 years after the end of production of a specific model.

If you need a details for a specific product, please refer to the FARO customer support team in your region. The folks there have lists for that.

FARO is typically offering hardware maintenance contracts for 7 years after the end of production of a specific model.
Is there someplace we can find "end of production" dates
for all of the products that FARO no longer produces :?:

Was there ever an answer to this issue? We have a scanner that doesn't offer the option to get to setup. It goes straight to the faro load screen and then straight to a black or white screen.

Plugging it in to PC and spamming the delete button has been unresponsive.

Anyone know a button press combo to reset the software?

I had the loop too, I sent it to Faro, they fixed it , they said it was an SD card problem, it did not cost me more than the calibration, but it took so long to fix. Over 2 months, but it came almost brand new, they did a very good job.

I have an RMA as of today. It is doubtful the issue is related to hardware, so I was hoping there was a way to forgo the price to fix a bug...

We went through this too, with a model 130. The guy on the Faro help line admitted that it was a bug in the way the software handled the SD card, but yet told me that didn't matter and I would have to pay the $4000 just to have them look at it, even though they caused the problem in the first place. He told me that I had to pay because if I had bought the service contract, they would have updated the firmware BEFORE the problem occurred, and therefore it never would have happened. Hmmm...

In any case, long story short I ninja-ed in to the machine and updated the firmware myself. Instantly came back to life, haven't had a problem since. Except that the SD card in the scanner at the time bit the dust.
