I still use my trimble tx5 which is in fact a Faro s120 once in a while to scan small places of above ceiling. It still gets the job done.

Re: Faro Focus 3D S120 disassemble repair
The inclinometer chip is located on the bottom PCB where the blue led lights are, inside the white plastic cover. You need to remove the rotating base first and then you'll get access to this pcb. The white plastic cover is also glued to the chassis so it needs some effort to remove it without causing any damage. Keep in mind if you replace the inclinometer chip with one from another faro device (or just the whole PCB from another device) you'll also need to adjust its values inside the ScannerParams.txt in the internal microSD and to avoid this time consuming trial and error process its better to just copy and paste these values from the other device, otherwise your inclinometer will not read the inclination correctly.momu wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 9:43 am Hallo alexandiir,I also have a Faro Focus 3D S120 with a dead inclinometer and I would like to repair it. So far I struggle finding it on the various pcbs. Can you give me a hint where it is located on your images? I also disassembled my scanner and it seems to be a bit different from the inside at first glance (see attachments).2.Inclinometer is dead. I don't think it can be repaired.

Re: Faro Focus 3D S120 disassemble repair
Hi Everyone,
long time no see.
I read your previous comments and I am sorry that you have troubles with your S120 as I do.
I reached out FARO in Germany and they told me that unfortunately, those units are not repearable anymore because they timeline came to an end as a product line... SO...
I will be travelling to Germany, near Frankfurt and will stay there from October to February. If there is anyone in Germany who can repair my old FARO Focus S120 I would be more than happy to pay, share a beer over it and so. Maybe there are some spare parts in other dimension, who knows?
I thought if you can buy used parts for cars, for sure there is some market for scanners? My unit has around 4-5k scans done, it is basically like a mint condition but what is missing is the system. I am not able to boot (it is in a loop).
Best to all of you!
Karol

No, The inclinometer is located where I placed the red arrows on the photo. It's under the transparent plastic.Faro2020 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 23, 2022 6:39 amIs this board of inclinometer? Re: Faro Focus 3D S120 disassemble repair
This is a board from another Faro device not a faro focus scanner. The seller on eBay who is selling this also has some faulty faro focus scanners which are a good source for parts but he doesn't want to sell individual parts. You can only buy the whole device from him and extract the parts you want.
