Faro Focus time lost

Post by alias »

Hello,

We come here to verify with users how long the internal battery is supposed to last in a FOCUSX130.

Our internal battery is probably dead after only three years : time lost every startup.
It seems to me that such a battery should last 5 years or more.

What do you think about that ? Any one had such a problem ?

Faro says nothing about that, just that we can work without time, and/or setting time each startup.
They propose a maintenance session for several thousands €, and more if the battery is to be changed - or anything else.

Anyone knows how to open the box to change this 50cts batery ?

Read this thread. This has nothing to do with the working battery in case you'll attack me on this one ;)

Our x330 does the same thing. If I try to reset the clock, the scanner says that is need to restart in order to make the changes. Upon restart, the clock resets back to 0. So I am basically stuck in a time loop......

I decided that it wasn't that important to worry about. Definitely not worth it to me to send the unit in unless there are some other issues that need attention.
