Is there a way to just capture images with faro?
I was wonder if there is a way to just take the image part of a scan instead of the scan then the images. I have a client that all they want it the images.
Anyone know of a way to do this?
Thank you

Take a super low resolution scan with the image settings you want to save time, then in the newest version of SCENE you can export the full resolution color panoramas in 20,000 x 10,000 pixel compensated panoramic images. Doesn't completely eliminate the pointcloud, but it is probably the fastest way currently.

Thanks for the info. Will it still register them together at the lowest setting? Thanks again for the quick reply.

Jason,
The answer is... it depends.
You'll need enough overlap and point density.
You can always register it manually, but that will defeat the purpose.
Your original question was just about the images

You are correct with that.
Oh well I’ll continue doing what I am for now.
Thanks again.

Sounds like your client wants a google streetview kinda result.
Isn't it cheaper and faster to buy a dedicated 360 camera for that?
I make virtual tours with a Ricoh Theta S and my phone with the google streetview app. (I have a hobby business for photography)
Works like a charm!
If you want the Laser HDR effect, just add a freakload of clarity (in Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom) for the same effect

Thanks so much for your prompt and kind reply about the point cloud of Dealey Plaza and its processing with your Points2Cloud application:

I have a related question which is definitely within your skill set, but since it is outside the scope of this sub-forum I will send you a PM.
Thanks again!

Thanks Ramon. There are some exciting things we are working on with Clouds2Max and hoping they will be available for posting by the end of October.
Cheers!

That is exactly what they need. Is there a way to stitch the 360 camera shots into something like scene does with web share 2 go?Mortum wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 8:10 am Sounds like your client wants a google streetview kinda result.

Be very interested in reading more on how you use the 360 cameras.
Thank you
