WTF - Agreed - You will find once a company get to a certain size after acquiring others - Especially European Companies holding a extreme load of debt - the ones not indebted are awesome - the hatchet men arrive and CUT the living crap out of the personnel, its not the guys working within's fault. Usually, the guys that are any good - long time employees are let go, as the company wants a complaint, low confidence, nervous, minimal competent level , but still effective work Force - I have seen it happen here in NZ. Large company -taken over, best guys sacked - now accounts moved to India, 120 days to get paid - hardly worth working for them as the poor guys left - have zero decision making ability. I'm surprised they can handle it. As they are qualified Engineers, treated like children.
The Hatch Men are not technically minded - they just want a improved bottom line.
You may ask - why does Nick have this opinion. Well the Hatchet - got me when I was 28. And on that day I vouded to never let someone do that to me again. Hence, I started my own company. Now I am the only hatchet man I need to watch out for,. See image to the right. One of the guys that was let go at the company I am talking about was exactly my age. Some 2 years ago. He had zero business owner ship skills, zero ability to generate income, wife, kids, mortgage. I looked at him when he told me - and all that could go though my mind was this is exactly what I - decided would not happen to me in 1999.
Life Lesson is now - concluded, please carry on
