Hello,
We received this week our new Faro S 150 scanner but i found some problems with the new interface.
- If you create a new project and change the scan name into something else, when finished the scan has the original scan name "Scan_000", not the name that i have changed
- The SD card does not do an automatic import ( project ) in Scene, i tested it with our other scanner X 130 with no problem.
Anybody else with the same problems? Firmware needs a urgent update!

You should be able to manually import the files.
Create a new project, go to the import tab, open the SD card to the scans folder and select, then drag them into the center area (new UI, 6.2.3).
Save, then go to the process tab and process as normal.
It happens from time to time that the files don't import.
Hope this helps,
David

If you need them to be a specific name, you can rename them on the card also.

If i want to rename it, the scans won't import well, scene comes in "read only" mode.
We can live with the manual import stuff but renaming the scans is something we always do.
The projects we do are quick around 100 - 600 scans, so we seperate it into "floorlevels" of the buildings.
Easier to navigate in webshare 2 go, but if we want to use 2 scanners ( existing focus X 130 ) and it is not possible to change the name it becomes confusing... it's a nice scanner but this is really something that has to be resolved!
Somebody from Faro also reading this?

I agree it has to be fixed.
What if you first copy the files locally and then rename them?
Make sure you change the name in the file and once you drill down to the first level.
Also, are you using classic view or the new GUI?
I wonder if there is something in the file structure that has changed on the new scanner?

Not easy if you have to change 100 scans, wast off time.
We still work with the old interface, but wit the new UI the problem remains.
Like something has changed with this new scanners, strange.
As usual, no feedback from Faro, also send this info the the customer support, waiting for an answer and solution.

Re: New Faro S 150 with buggy system?
Use the following workaround which has been proved to work for Vincent:
After renaming the scan base name leave the page by pressing the back button instead the home button.
Regards,
Daniel
